About Flyfishing Paradise on Vaalrivier
Fly Fishing Paradise on Vaal is a self-catering resort situated on Palmietfontein Farm along the banks of the Vaal River, located approximately 15 kilometres outside of Parys, Free State. The eco-friendly property operates entirely on solar power and features 200 metres of private riverfront access, making it a popular destination for targeting Smallmouth Yellowfish, Largemouth Yellowfish, Mudfish, Carp, and Sharptooth Catfish.
Guests stay in thatched-roof units or cabins equipped with kitchens, en-suite bathrooms, and private wood-fired hot tubs, while enjoying communal amenities like a swimming pool, games room, and the presence of free-roaming wildlife such as springbok and wildebeest. Access to the farm includes a 10-kilometre gravel road stretch, and the resort enforces a minimum two-night booking requirement for all stays.
