About Skydive Jeffreys Bay
Skydive Jeffreys Bay is a coastal aviation and skydiving centre situated at Vlakteplaas off the R102 service road, located approximately seven kilometres east of the town of Jeffreys Bay in the Eastern Cape. Operating daily from an airfield positioned alongside the N2 freeway, the dropzone provides tandem skydives, experienced sports jumps, and student flight training utilising a Cessna 206 aircraft. Jumps are conducted from altitudes up to 11,000 feet, allowing participants to experience freefall speeds of up to 200 km/h over the Eastern Cape coastline before opening parachutes for a five-minute canopy flight.
Standard operations conclude back at the main Vlakteplaas airfield dropzone, though coastal landings can be arranged directly on the sand at Jeffreys Bay beach when weather permissions and advance bookings allow. The facility accommodates jumpers who meet a specific fitness baseline with a maximum weight threshold of 100 kilograms for men and 90 kilograms for women, and the grounds feature an on-site tuckshop providing food and refreshments for visitors.
